Product Evolution

For Continuity, Reliability and Growth

Hexapole IntoAccess has provided complementary software for Paxton Net2 for many years. Organizations and installers rely on our solutions because of their reliability, security and stability.

With the introduction of Paxton Net2 version 7, which operates differently from previous versions, we are preparing our products for the future. This page explains how we are making our software compatible with Net2 v7 and how we will strengthen our collaboration with customers and installers from 2026 onwards.

The original (legacy) IntoAccess licensing model

The IntoAccess products delivered up to and including 2025 run fully and stably on Paxton Net2 v6.9. They are used by many organizations as an essential part of their access control infrastructure.

Until now, we have used a very simple model:

  • One-time licence purchase.
  • Unlimited use.
  • Support available without formal agreements.

This model served us well for many years. However, IT environments now change faster than ever. Organizations and installers increasingly expect systems to be actively maintained, kept secure and updated in a timely manner.

The challenge we face together

Three important developments play a role:

  • Rapid IT changes:
New versions of Windows Server, SQL, virtualization platforms and changes within Paxton Net2 require continuous adjustments and frequent testing.
  • Growing demand for support:
Installers and end-customers increasingly request assistance during migrations, server replacements and Net2 updates. This is understandable, but it requires significantly more capacity.
  • No sustainable foundation for continued development:
The one-time license model does not provide a structural basis for ensuring long-term product development and support.

The new IntoAccess licensing model

To provide long-term certainty, we are moving to a licensing model that better fits current
needs.

The new model consists of:

  • Base license: One-time purchase for the first year.
  • Annual renewal: 10% of the base license price per year.

This structure enables us to guarantee sustainable product development, compatibility updates, support, and long-term alignment with Net2 v7 and future releases.

Our direction: from product to partnership

From 2026 onwards, we will introduce a renewed form of collaboration designed to support both organizations and installers in a predictable and future-proof way.

  • Security during software and system updates:
Free upgrades of IntoAccess products to ensure compatibility with new versions of Windows Server, virtualization platforms and Paxton Net2.
  • Migration support when needed:
Our Managed ICT department can provide guided assistance for server replacements and VM migrations at fixed rates.
  • Premium support with SLA options:
Service agreements offering defined response times, direct access to second-line specialists and prioritized handling of incidents.
  • Partner portal:
A free online portal for license management, activations and notifications regarding renewals or compatibility issues.
  • Ongoing development:
Regular new versions of IntoAccess products, including new features and improvements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Net2 v7 and the IntoAccess software.

When will the new version be available?
The new IntoAccess software compatible with Net2 v7 is expected to be released in early 2026. We will send a newsletter as soon as it is ready.
Do I need to take any action now?
No. As long as you continue to use Net2 v6.9, you do not need to do anything, and your system will remain stable and secure. Only if you decide to move to Net2 v7 in the future will an upgrade of the IntoAccess software be required, otherwise not.
What is the IntoAccess Portal?
The IntoAccess Portal is a secure online environment where customers and installers can purchase, manage, upgrade, and download their licences. Registration is expected to open later this year. Once the new IntoAccess software compatible with Net2 v7 is released, the portal will become fully active. A newsletter will be sent out once registration is open.
What will the upgrade cost?
If you continue using Net2 v6.9, nothing changes for your current licence or costs. Only if you move to Net2 v7 will an upgrade of the IntoAccess software be required. The new software will operate under a new licensing model. When you decide to move to Net2 v7 and continue using IntoAccess products, you will pay the annual renewal fee (10% of the licence price) for the upgrade. For custom software, required adjustments in 2026 will be quoted individually.
What happens if I upgrade to Net2 v7 now?
If you upgrade to Net2 v7 prematurely, integration with IntoAccess software may stop working. We expect Paxton will provide a rollback option to Net2 v6.9. If this occurs, please contact our support department.
